The Cancer Care Institute is under the medical direction of Morteza Dowlatshahi, MD. Working with a network of more than 40 medical associates, Dr. Dowlatshahi will ensure individual personalized care with each primary physician, patient and family member.

Dr. Dowlatshahi completed his undergraduate study at the University of California, Berkeley with high honors. He went on to medical school at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He completed Residency and specialization training at UCLA and Southern California Permanente Medical Group under the chairmanship of A. Robert Kagen, MD.

Dr. Dowlatshahi is a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology as well as being honored as the Fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology. He previously served as the Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology at the East Bay Regional Cancer Center, as well as San Jose Medical Center. Dr. Dowlatshahi was the Chief of Staff at Regional Medical Center 2016-2018 and on the Board of Trustees for the past 8 years. He currently serves as Chairman of Cancer Services at Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Dowlatshahi's field of expertise includes brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery. He has presented and published numerous original papers both nationally and internationally on topics related to head and neck cancer, gynecologic malignancies, and stereotactic radiosurgery.
